My rather hasty turorial on WS-FTP.

first, download the WS-FTP program HERE.. Simply save it to your computer where you can find it, then double click it and it should "auto install".

When you start up WS-FTP, you'll see the following screen come up.

Fill in the form like this:
1. Any name you want to call your account. something like "my AOL".
2. Type in members.aol.com
3. Make sure "UNIX" is highlighted.
4. Click the little box specifing "Anonymous"
5. In the "password" box, type in your AOL name: IE: billybob@aol.com
6. Click on Apply( This only has to be done the first time you use WS-FTP) Next time you open the program, you'll see the completed screen, just click "connect".

Lastly, click on "connect" and you should see this screen come up:

On this screen, click on #2 to make one change to how the program works.

You should now see this screen:

Click on "Session" and then click the box for "force lower case remote names". WS-FTP's default is to add a CAPITAL .JPG to each file name. Then click on "apply" OR "set as default".
Its best to always use the same case for everything, it'll make your life alot easier in the long run, so getting used to all lower case now is the easiest way to go.

Ok, now you should be back to this screen again..

The number 1 is next to a little green arrow. You can use this to move through your program and folders until you find your pictures. I personally keep mine under "my documents" and then "my pictures".

Next, just highlight the pic you want to upload, and click the little arrow that points to the right and your picture should upload, then the RIGHT screen should reload the show the file name of the picture as being uploaded to your space on AOL.

Here's a little tip, if you hold down the "ctrl" key while highlighting your pics, you can highlight all you want and then click the "right' pointing arrow and it'll upload ALL of them with just one click .. pretty cool!!! You can also use WS-FTP to delete your pics from your computer AND delete them from your ftp space on AOL once the auction is over.

That just about does it for learning WS-FTP, with a few uses, it'll be the best program you ever used.

Now, to add MORE pictures to your auction, just add this little bit of code in the description area of the sell page.
<img src=http://your aol pic address here.jpg>
This will place one image in your description. You can put it were ever you like too! If you want to add more pictures, simply put a <p> between the first code and the next one. The <p> will just space them vertically down the page instead of spreading them out horizontally. You can add all the images you like by using the above code for each individual image.

Let me know how this tutorial was to use, changes are always enevitable.. Email me with any questions or suggestions.......Mark
